I'm back for my first post after such a long break.
As a mum living abroad is not an easy task for me but I slowly adapt to it. My daughter will turn 2 years old soon. I'm very eager to teach her before she is ready for school. Since I'm not working so I plan to send her to school when she is a bit older. So from now on, I need to search for some educational activities for her to do rather than spending whole day in front of the television. Her favourite cartoon of all is still Peppa Pig. I can say that she learns a lot from Peppa.
As I googled through the internet, I found lots of educational activities written by lots of experienced mums. I found this wonderful blog, 1+1+1=1. She got lots of ideas on how to teach children and best of all, there are lots of wonderful free printables. I like the idea of Tot Trays. So I planned to use it to teach my daughter. So far I have done few activities such as sorting, matching and counting. Some activities, my daughter, JJ enjoyed doing them and some she didn't seem to be interested in.
The following are some of the activities that we have done so far.
Small space - provide good hand motor skill
I cut a small opening on the lid so that the popsicle sticks can go through.
Counting
I made the cookies with sew-on buttons (as chocolate chips). The buttons are for counting from 1-5. JJ prefers to use them for her tea party instead.
Magnetic fishing (made them from felt) - learn counting and colours
I will continue to search for more activities to add on.
